Family Work Camp
June 20-26, 2008
Family work camp is a time that many cherish each year- working alongside others who believe in the possibility of a peaceful, creative world. We will come together to play music, clear brush, learn to knit, pick blackberries, put on new roofs, swim in the Yuba River, dig in the garden, create delicious meals, paint buildings and look at the spectacular night sky. The work is important and our appreciation is profound!

Van Jones "Green for All" DVD
Van Jones spoke recently in Grass Valley as a benefit for the Woolman Semester. He shared his vision of "Green For All" in which the emerging green economy includes green collar jobs for economically disadvantaged people. "Just as there are no throw-away species and no throw-away ecosystems, there are also no throw-away neighborhoods and no throw-away people. In order for humanity to overcome the challenge of the climate crisis, we need to engage the creativity and power of everyone on the planet. To this end, Green For All will work for equal protection from the perils of climate change and equal access to the promise of the emerging green economy as the United States reinvents itself."
Call us at 530-273-3183 for your copy of the new dvd, made by local videographers Yuba Gals Independent Media, as part of their Peak Moment Conversations series. Copies are available for $20 each. |
