Sierra Friends Center is located in a “fire hazard severity zone.” While we are working with our Firewise Community to dramatically reduce fuels and create emergency evacuation plans, we also need to address our aging electrical infrastructure. Electrical panels fail due to old age. Electrical panel failure can lead to electrical arcing causing heat build-up and ultimately fire. Adding and upgrading circuits reduces this risk and prepares us for our future growth.
We urgently need to raise $30,000 to upgrade 11 electrical panels and wiring to our facilities. The CPFEA board has pledged $10,000 toward this campaign and we are so very grateful! We need to raise just $20,000 to meet our goal.
If you care about youth and about the core mission of Woolman to promote peace, justice and environmental sustainability can you help us prepare for this fire season with a safe campus? Your tax-deductible donation will be put to immediate use to hire an electrician, acquire the equipment and work with PG&E to complete this critical project.
